The Chemka Hot Springs are an oasis in the hinterland of the Kilimanjaro region, situated 69 kilometres from Arusha. At these idyllic underground springs with the crystal clear, turquoise water, you can enjoy a perfect rest after a strenuous Kilimanjaro climb or adventurous wilderness safari. The pond is very deep, in some places up to 10 meters, but the water is so clear that you can see the bottom well all the time. On the shore under lush trees you can camp, enjoy your snacks or soak up the sun.The distance from Arusha to the hot springs is 69km and the journey normally takes around 1 hour 20, so one should allow at least 5 hours for this excursion.

The waterfalls are situated in the Kilimanjaro National Park, to the foothills of the Kilimanjaro. The source of the water comes directly from the glacier on top of Kilimanjaro. Splendid, green areas where also grow the most fantastic trees and exotic plants. About 40 minute drive from Moshi town, from which you have a very nice view on Mt. Kilimanjaro, located in the beautiful country side of Marangu surrounded by lush landscapes, you will find this hidden waterfall.
In the morning we will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha. Afterwards you will undertake an approximate two and a half hours scenic drive along the slopes of West Kilimanjaro up to the Maasailand near Tinga-Tinga. After arriving at „Olpopongi“ Maasai Village a group of pleasant Maasai and the Village Chief welcomes you with a chilled welcome local drink
A border runs through it. Lake Chala is located some 55km northeast of Moshi town on the south-eastern flank of Mt Kilimanjaro and on the Kenyan border. In fact, the international boundary between Tanzania and Kenya runs through the middle of the lake! Lake Chala is a water-filled caldera that was formed after volcanic activity (probably from Mt Kilimanjaro) caused it to collapse. The crater itself is 3km in length and 2.4km wide, with a surface area of about 4.2km². The depth of the lake is between 70 to 90m with the walls almost vertical and as high as a 100m in some places.
